From Honey to Glass: An Intro to Mead

Join the Women’s Wine Alliance for an immersive seminar at Lost Cause Meadery led by co-founder Billy Beltz, one of the most respected educators and innovators in modern mead making. Often called the world’s oldest fermented beverage, mead is experiencing a renaissance—and this session offers a front-row seat.

Billy will guide attendees through the fundamentals of mead production, from honey selection and fermentation to yeast, nutrients, and style development, drawing on his extensive teaching and research background. The seminar will include a guided tasting of Lost Cause’s award-winning meads, showcasing the range, complexity, and versatility of this ancient beverage.
