About The Speaker:
Petra Belliti
Petra Belliti is an Italian wine educator, certified sommelier, and hospitality professional with almost 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Born and raised in Italy and now based in San Diego, Petra has dedicated her career to sharing the richness, diversity, and stories behind Italian wine.
She is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, an Italian Wine Educator and Italian Wine Ambassador through the Vinitaly International Academy (VIA), and an Italian Wine Specialist certified by the North American Sommelier Association (NASA). These internationally recognized credentials, combined with extensive travel throughout Italy's wine regions, have given her a deep understanding of the country's extraordinary native grape varieties, terroirs, and winemaking traditions.
Throughout her career, Petra has held leadership positions in both hospitality and the wine trade, including Beverage Director and General Manager at Solare Ristorante, Portfolio Manager and Sales Manager for DOCG Imports, and Italian Wine Specialist for leading importers in Southern California. She currently serves as Sommelier at Wolf in the Woods in San Diego, where she curates the wine program, hosts educational tastings and wine dinners, and works closely with guests to create memorable food and wine experiences.
Having visited wineries across Piemonte, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Lombardia, Toscana, Marche, Campania, Sicilia, and beyond, Petra believes that every bottle tells the story of its land, its people, and its history. Her passion lies not only in teaching the technical aspects of wine, but in making Italian wine approachable, engaging, and unforgettable through storytelling, education, and genuine hospitality.
